Comments:
The 1842 flood carried away the bridge, mills, and all nearby buildings. The bridge was rebuilt. Per The Brattleboro Reformer, July 10, 1936, the nearly 100-year old bridge was slowly being dismantled and was only a wooden skeleton already.
