Comments:
The bridge went out of use when a portion of Route 100 was relocated in 1937. Per The Burlington Free Press, November 12, 1937, the bridge known as Casey was being put to use as a shed to give it a purpose (though it was still in place across the Mad River). Requests to preserve the bridge caused the Town of Moretown to decide to use the structure as a shed for its snow plow and other equipment. It was described as located alongside Power Station No. 8 of the Green Mountain Light and Power Company. Twelve years later, with the bridge sagging and weakening, the decision was made to remove it. On November 4, 1949, the bridge was set fire. Coordinates are approximate.
