Comments:
Some sources note that this bridge was lost in the 1927 flood, but this was either inaccurate or the bridge was otherwise replaced. Per the Montpelier Evening Argus, May 12, 1931, "The proposed overpass over the railtrack in West Berlin or Riverton, that would eliminate the dangerous railroad crossing and replace the wooden covered bridge about which complaints have been made, will not be constructed this year, it was learned at the office of the highway department." The covered bridge was being temporarily repaired and strengthened instead. Per the News and Advertiser (Northfield), May 10, 1934, "The new bridge at Riverton replaces the old wooden covered bridge built 62 years ago. The work was done by Barton Construction Co. of Troy, N.Y."
