Per the St. Albans Daily Messenger, September 15, 1948, "COVERED BRIDGE TO GO, Construction work has started on a new cement bridge that is to replace the old covered bridge known to older residents as Shingle Mill Hill Bridge, and located on the West-East Enosburg road."
