Comments:
On June 11, 1951, the Newport Daily Express reported that the state highway board requested bids to replace six bridges. One of them was for a “new 3-span steel beam bridge 187 feet long, to replace the Levis covered bridge spanning the Trout River between Montgomery and East Berkshire.”
