Comments:
Per The Burlington Free Press, January 14, 1955, "N. Fairfield Covered Bridge Torn Down, Considered Unsafe NORTH FAIRFIELD --- One of Fairfield's old landmarks has disappeared. The old covered bridge on the Pumpkin village to St. Rock's road has been torn down. Buffeted and rocked from its foundation by the hurricane of the past two years, it had been reinforced by girders twice. But this fall it was considered unsafe, torn down and replaced by the iron bridge from the center which in turn was replaced by a cement bridge."
