Comments:
Per the Springfield Reporter, December 21, 1934, "Larger Number Working on Federal Jobs; Old Covered Bridge at No. Springfield Razed --- SPRINGFIELD— With the razing last week of the old covered bridge at the northerly approach to the village of North Springfield the last bridge of its type on the state highway system in this district disappeared a victim to progress and the age of cement and steel. The neighboring structure [VT/45-14-03] which crosses No 10. Brook at the intersection of the County road and the North Springfield-Gassetts highway is the only covered bridge remaining in the Town of Springfield." In 1967, the Baltimore Bridge was declared unsafe. A committee headed by former US Senator Ralf Flanders was formed to move the bridge seven miles to a park beside the Eureka Schoolhouse. Milton Graton moved the bridge and restored it.
