Comments:
There are two different entries in the Richard Sanders Allen notes in the NSPCB archives that could refer to this bridge. One was in the southwestern part of town that was lost during the 1927 flood and the other was in the eastern part of town on Route 15. Per The Burlington Free Press, August 13, 1892, the covered bridge which crosses the deep gorge in the village on the East road was one where the east end of the bridge was washed out to a depth of 15 feet. Per the Morrisville Messenger, July 24, 1912, the covered bridge at Jericho was the scene of a motorcycle accident. Per the Burlington Clipper, September 5, 1929, "Workmen are taking down the old covered bridge which has been a landmark for almost 75 years, and the new steel bridge is nearly ready for cement flooring."
