Comments:
16-panel truss. Per the North Star (Danville), September 26, 1857, "NOTICE TO Bridge Builders & Stone Masons. --- The undersigned will receive proposals till the 15th of October next, for a contract to build a covered bridge across the Passumpsic River at Passumpsic Village in Barnet, with two abutments of stone. The plan of the bridge to be similar to the Bridge across the Passumpsic River near the Railroad Depot in St. Johnsbury." According to the History of Barnet, Vermont, by Frederic Palmer Wells (1923), the contractors were William Adams and Ezra Parks who employed Charles Richardson, “a well known bridge builder”, as carpenter.
