Closed. 10-panel truss. Cost $1784.00 Per The Selinsgrove Times-Tribune, July 21, 1871, "NOTICE TO BRIDGE BUILDERS. - NOTICE is hereby given that the undersigned, Commissioners of Snyder County, will meet at the house of MOSES SPECHT, in Beavertown, on SATURDAY, the 22nd day of JULY, inst., between the hours of 10 o'clock A.M. and 1 o'clock P.M. for the purpose of receiving proposals for the ERECTION OF A NEW BRIDGE across Middlecreek, at or near George Dreese's, in Beaver Township, as directed by Act of Assembly, approved May 11th, 1871. Said Bridge to be about 96 feet in length, (of two spans of 48 feet or thereabout), with Abutments and one Pier, and to be erected on the same plan of the Bridge at or near Samuel Winters' in Beaver township, with a good roof of No. 1 sawed Shingles. Specifications may be seen at the time and place of letting. No bids from any person or parties outside of the county will be received or considered. JOHN J. MATTERN, ISAAC S. LONGACRE, PHILIP KINNEY, Commissioners'. Commissioners' Office, Middleburg, July 10, 1871." The information implies that a covered bridge was located at Samuel Winters' as well.
