Comments:
Bridge #14847. The Parvin Bridge was named after a family that homesteaded in the area in the 1850s. The original covered bridge at this location was a 66-foot Howe truss. During inspection in 1917, it was noted that the chords were badly worm eaten. Four years later, George W. Breeding erected the present 75-foot span at a cost of $3617.83. The bridge was bypassed in the mid-1970s when the road was realigned. The bridge was renovated, rededicated on November 17, 1986 and reopened to traffic shortly after.
