Comments:
The bridge was built on the first road in Lane County, the original Territorial Highway. Truck traffic became too heavy for the bridge and a new, more direct route for Territorial Highway was constructed. Heavy snowfall severely damaged the bridge in 1969. The roof collapsed under the weight of more than three feet of snow. The broken roof was cut out with chainsaws and the bridge remained uncovered until repairs could be made the following spring. The bridge has a square portal with angled corners.
