Comments:
Per The Coshocton Democrat, October 26, 1864, John Shrake was paid $536.90 for "Building Clark's Bridge" and $25.00 as the "balance on Abutments, Clark's Bridge." According to records, the bridge was reroofed in 1895, the center pier was rebuilt in 1910. It was allowed to severely deteriorate. It was closed in 1981 and in 1991 a large beam was placed in the bridge to help stabilize it. Work to dismantle the old trusses and rebuild the bridge started in 1995 and was completed mainly with new timber and modern fastening techniques.
