Comments:
Lumber for the bridge was logged in the Hubbard Brook area of North Woodstock and was cut in John Emmon`s sawmill, costing $10 par 1000 board feet. Early photographs show flying buttresses running the entire length of the bridge. It is likely that they were used to protect it from damage during times of ice jams and high floodwaters. The bridge was lost to arson on April 5, 1971.
