Comments:
This bridge was built to replace a ferry. Due to the wartime steel shortage, it was built of wood fastened with steel plates. It was supported by high wood-crib piers. The timber bridge had two spans of 120' and one of 160'. The 1956 replacement was a 3 span steel girder, 360' long with 14' roadway. The current bridge was built in 1992 with 3 welded steel spans 400' long and 28' roadway. MDOT Bridge #2014.
