Comments:
Based on a review of images and information, there may have been two covered bridges across the White River in Arizona. From a location standpoint, one was in a narrow ravine-like setting (this bridge). The other was in a much wider valley setting. One rendition was apparently built by Joseph Sponseller, per information on a photograph. One was built by a department of the Army in 1890, then lost in a flood in 1916, but rebuilt as a covered bridge by a local Apache indian. This bridge lasted into the 1940s when it was replaced with a steel bridge. One was removed in 1934.
