Loyalton Bridge, Loyalton, Dauphin County, PA
Norman Gasbarro Collection
Comments:
A bypass replacement is underway in 1938 Penn Pilot imagery, but the covered bridge seems to have already been replaced in 1931, or significantly modified due to a fire and subsequent removal of the truss portion of the bridge and adding of steel supports under the deck (per local newspaper reports). The work was done under the supervision of Harry A. Long of Port Royal, Juniata County, Pennsylvania. Loyalton was previously known as Short Mountain.
