Comments:
8-panel truss. The three spans of the original bridge were not all constructed at the same time. The center span over the Little Muskingum River was constructed in 1867 while the two covered approach sans were added in 1884. It is not clear what type of approaches were in place when the covered center span was built. In correspondence with Terry Miller June 3,1963, L. S. "Stock" Bower identified that he believed that he had reconstructed this bridge in 1939. Arches on the center span may be a later addition. Closed to traffic in 1983, rebuilt 1996. There were plans to repair the bridge in 2018. However, they were postponed when bids for the project came in considerably higher than the estimate. The center span collapsed on July 5, 2019 and on June 17, 2020, the southern approach span collapsed. The project to repair the one remaining span and re-construct the other two began in the fall of 2023. The new structure was completed in the summer of 2024.
