Comments:
Local legend is that a young man named John Forbes came to build the Hartley Steeves Bridge and fell in love with a local girl. The facts are even more interesting than the legend. On December 26, 1922, John Edwin Forbes married Marie L. Steeves of Hillsborough in Saint Andrews Church in Saint John. Marie’s father was Hartley J. Steeves.
